I have been working on loads for my 577-450s. I have an early model MH sporter and a long lever 1886 military MH. I have Jameson brass and lee dies.
My first attempt ended on the 5th forming. The case neck ripped off of the case body and was lodged in the die. I had take time to clean and lube the dies and lube the cases well before sizing.
I sent the die back to Lee and they removed the brass from the die and then polished inside. This was quick and easy. On return of the dies, I tried another reloading session. I sized about 10 before the well lubed cases again ended up with a ripped off case neck lodged in the die. I then used the expanding die on the ten resized cases. I lost three with neck splitting about 1/2 way down the neck. I had anealled the case necks before this session.
My question is what are my fellow forum followers experiences with the Jamison brass and the lee dies. I am disappointed there is no flaring to the expander as well.
Any info will help.
